Smoking Ban
As from the 1st July 2007 smoking will be banned in all public indoor spaces in England. Many places such as cinemas and public transport have not permitted smoking for some years and so it will be pubs, restaurants and private member clubs that will feel the biggest impact from the ban.
This is only one of the main reasons why you should stop smoking now. Have you considered what smoking does to your health. Think about the smell on your clothes, car and home, the money you could save and how this affects everyone around you.
Smoking - the risks
Smoking causes about 30% of all cancer deaths including around 90% of lung cancer deaths, 17% of all heart disease deaths and at least 80% of deaths from bronchitis and emphysema.
About half of all regular cigarette smokers will be killed by their habit
Despite the Government's 17 million ant-smoking capaigns, 12 million people continue to smoke. While the number of smokers has declined by 50% over the past 30 years, those quitting tend to be older age groups. The number of young people starting remains HIGH!
